Wooden table restoration using products from Amicus UK
This short blog entry is to show wooden table restoration, it was a quick project, all together it took about 8 hours. The table is from IKEA and was bought about 5 years ago. Most of the year the table is kept outside without any cover, the original coating deteriorated significantly over time.
After taking the table apart to the last screw I started with sanding off old varnish using 877 Line 150mm 81 Holes sanding discs.
I decided to use pigmented Vernites EcoPur Stone 2K 30% sheen with WIH780 catalyst. I applied two coats, sanding with 240 grit paper between coats.
As for consumables I had:
- 877 Line 1950 150mm Sanding Discs 81 Holes (120 and 240 grit)
- SuperCup mixing cups (400 and 650mm)
Given the fact that it was a "quick" restoration, the "new " table looks very good in comparison.
Have a look at below photos showing different stages of restoration.
